Parent Advisory
Council
The Mission of our Parent Advisory Council
(PAC) is to support, encourage and improve the quality of
education, the well being of the students and the
environment of the Southern Zone Schools.
All Parents are members of the PAC and are
invited to attend PAC meetings on the third Tuesday of
each month at 7pm. All ideas are welcome!
PAC News - December 2008:

Thank you to parents for all of your
help with Christmas concerts, especially to those that
brought goodies.

Thank you to the Burton Christmas
Concert decorating committee: Jerome Goodman, Crystal
Watson, Richelle Coats, Kristen Davies, Stan Massey, and
Nicole Schiller.

Thank you to Christy LaMarsh in
Edgewood for decorating the Hall, to Holly Brindamour
and Mandy Warren for helping with Santa’s gifts, to the
Legion for the use of the hall and especially thank you
to Santa!

PAC is still looking for a secretary.

PAC will be hosting a Children’s Fun
Afternoon in the Burton School Gym on January 20th at
3:45. This is an opportunity for children from Edgewood,
Fauquier and Burton to get together after school to meet
and play with other children from the area. Call Karlene
to arrange carpools.

Next PAC meeting will be January 20th
at 3:45 in Burton, at the same time as the Children’s
Fun Afternoon. Please feel free to contact Karlene
Harper at 269-7298 with suggestions or questions about
PAC.

Planning Council
The School
Planning Council (SPC) is made up of parents, teachers, and
a school administrator.
The SPC’s role is to
construct the annual school growth plan in consultation with
teachers, other staff, and the PAC.
