Another
outdoor Canoe and Hike adventure! This time rather than waiting
for the vagaries of weather to propel the canoes to the south end of the
lake, our valiant adventures began in Slocan City. Hot May sun made
canoe rescue drills and hiking up to Emerald Lake a joy. It was a
terrific hike and paddle.
Ms. Sebben and Ms. Bowman facilitated an amazing Fiber Art Mural
Project. With ten students, each responsible for a small square;
Thousands of tiny pieces of fabric; and the Valhalla Glacier as their
inspiration, an amazing mural of our community was created. It will
grace the halls of Lucerne School for many years to come. |
Award winning animators Wendy Tilby and Amanda Forbis taught the eager
animation students four Animation Techniques: Claymation, Writing
on Film, Cut-outs, and Pixilation. Students used these techniques to
make short clips and a final project. It was a blast.
Writing Residency
Toronto writer, Stuart Ross, returned for the third year. Students wrote
centos, collaborative poems, poems from the point of view of a lost dog,
and short fiction. They published their work in ezine form on the net
and performed at the Silverton Gallery. What fun! |
