Edgewood Elementary School is located in the community of Edgewood, BC, on the western shore of the Arrow Lakes. Edgewood is located 80 kilometers south of Nakusp. There are 22 students at Edgewood Elementary School. Despite our small size and remote location, we offer a full range of educational services.
At EES, our teachers combine cutting edge educational technology with an outdoor program that is second to none in the province. Our students learn wilderness skills, hiking, cross country skiing and snowshoeing at the same time as receiving excellent education in all subject areas. Our interactive whiteboard and class set of laptops are used daily, ensuring that our students receive the best of 21st century education.
Together Edgewood Elementary and Burton Elementary make up the Southern Zone Schools. The two schools share a PAC, staff, resources, professional development and special events.
A StrongStart Outreach Centre, a Little Explorers Playgroup and a Community Reading Centre are also housed in Edgewood Elementary School.
