Burton Elementary School is located in the community of Burton, BC, 36 km south of Nakusp and 22 km north of the Fauquier - Needles Ferry. With 10 students in grades one to four, BES is the smallest school in BC School District 10, Arrow Lakes. Despite our small size, we offer a full range of services to our students.
At BES, we are proud to deliver excellent education in all subject areas from an exceptional scenic location. Our outdoor education program includes environmental science, scientific observation, outdoor skills, hiking, cross country skiing and snowshoeing.
Together Burton Elementary and Edgewood Elementary make up the Southern Zone Schools. The two schools share a PAC, staff, resources, professional development and special events.
A StrongStart Outreach Centre and Community Reading Centre share our beautiful, energy efficient building. The community uses the school for volleyball and basketball, meetings and celebrations.
